Keep Up with the 101st During Deployment

The division is currently deployed, but you can still follow news of the 101st and continue to support them while they are away. You can maintain visibility of our Screaming Eagles and Regional Command-East by visiting CJTF101, the Fort Campbell Courier, or by visiting the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Facebook Page.

CITIZENS FOR FORT CAMPBELL

Citizens for Ft. Campbell traveled to Washington, D.C. recently to present post improvement projects to members of the Kentucky Congressional delegation.

Ft. Campbell Honors Vietnam Veterans With Homecoming

We are proud to announce that, effective January 1, 2010, Active Duty Military will pay no Kentucky Income Tax! In addition, we continue to offer a low cost of living and outstanding quality of life. With no sales tax on groceries, no sales tax on new car purchases for active duty military, and low overall sales tax and property tax rates, life in Christian County is less taxing and more relaxing.

In addition, our community has a long and proud tradition of sponsoring events and opportunities for our friends at Fort Campbell to enjoy. Every September, we host the Christian County Salutes Fort Campbell Week that typically features a Military Affairs Ball, Commander/Command Sergeant Major Luncheon, Mayor’s Golf Scramble, Ladies Luncheon and Tour of Homes, and the ever popular Chili Cook-Off. In addition, we offer a Hail and Farewell, Gander Memorial Ceremony, Sounds of Friendship and Freedom Concert, and Veterans Appreciation Parade. With each event, we hope to help our military families feel connected and at home in Hopkinsville-Oak Grove-Christian County, Kentucky.

 Eagle Ambassador Information
Eagle Ambassadors are individuals or organizations that make a monetary contribution to support the work of the Military Affairs Committee. Currently, there are 180 Eagle Ambassadors from the Hopkinsville-Oak Grove-Christian County area.

Eagle Ambassador are the lifeblood of our organization and their support allows the Military Affairs Committee to continue offering excellent programs and services such as the Annual Hail and Farewell Party for members of the Fort Campbell Command Team, the annual Sounds of Friendship and Freedom Concert, and the annual Citizens for Fort Campbell Trip. Resources are also vital as we continue our Operation Left Turn initiative by offering new events, enhancing community marketing efforts to other installations, and recruiting military families to make Christian County their permanent home.

The benefits of being and Eagle Ambassador are limitless. Eagle Ambassadors receive the latest information regarding Fort Campbell and its movements, are invited to social and networking functions with key leadership at Fort Campbell, and have the satisfaction of strengthening our relationship with Fort Campbell and supporting the military families in our community.

To learn more information, download an Eagle Ambassador Brochure, or contact Carter Hendricks at 270-885-9096.
